Chris and Pete headed up North just over a week ago to compete at Kinloss again and bagged a fantastic 5th overall and some good points towards the various championship…

It was a 6hr journey to get to the rally but Friday was a cracker of a day and it was a stunning drive up to get to the vast stages of Kinloss military base. It’s a venue we have both competed at before, and this was looking like the first dry event with consistent conditions since Chris began campaigning the Rally2 car.

Saturday was cooler and cloudy but still dry, so we bolted some slicks on, confidence high going into the first stage. We had a storming run to end up joint 4th, catching & our 30s man and 1min man. That 12 mile stage was then repeated another 2 times and we worked hard to hold 5th overall with those around us now pushing equally as hard.

After the lunchtime break the stage was changed around a bit - the threatened rain never materialising. We did what was possible without jeopardising a potentially strong result, and enjoyed the 2 tests in the afternoon. Chris remained committed and at the finish we placed 5th overall / 1st in class. Not a mark on the car which was beautifully turned out by Motoscope Northallerton as always.

We came away with some strong points for the North of England and Scottish tarmac championships, but that battle will have to wait a while as we cannot do the next few rounds due to other commitments.
